Commercial drone systems, supplied and supported from purchase through to authorisation.
Cleaning, cargo and agricultural systems for commercial operators across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Agricultural application
Scouting drones identify crop issues before they are visible to the naked eye, so treatment and fertilisation can be targeted where they are needed.

Supply and authorisation
A complete route to commercial operation
We supply ready-to-fly cleaning, cargo and agricultural systems, and we support our clients through the regulatory approval required to fly them commercially in the United Kingdom.
That support covers scoping the intended work, advising on the operations manual and supporting documentation, pilot training, and guidance through the submission to determination and renewal twelve months later.

Our own authorisation
The Bionic Eye has held CAA approval since 2014 and holds a current UK SORA authorisation for cleaning operations with its own PowerWash system, obtained in January 2026.
Clients
Who we work with
Cleaning and maintenance contractors adding aerial capability to an established service.
We supply and configure the system, assist with the authorisation application, and can provide white label capacity, arranged in advance, during the transition.
Existing drone operators entering the cleaning, cargo or application market.
We supply the drones and payloads, and advise on the scope of authorisation the intended work requires.
Organisations new to drone operation.
We advise on specification, authorisation, training and documentation as a single programme, so that the operation is compliant and staffed from the point it begins.
Operational continuity
Commercial drone work depends on the drone being serviceable on the day it is scheduled. Where it is not, the cost is borne by the contract, not by the warranty.
Workshop
We hold parts in the United Kingdom and carry out repairs in our own workshop.
Enhanced warranty option
We also offer an enhanced warranty service providing priority servicing and maintenance, with loan equipment supplied where parts are unavailable, so that scheduled work continues with minimal interruption.
White label crew
Where additional capacity is required, our own crew operates under the client’s branding.
About The Bionic Eye
The same discipline, from film to flight.
1996
Feature film
The Bionic name dates to 1996, when the business produced computer and motion graphics effects for feature film, creating the animated on-screen graphics and displays that convey key information within a scene. Members of our team worked on productions including the Mission Impossible and Harry Potter film series.
2002
Construction
The same craft carried directly into construction, where a complex sequence has to be understood before it is built. The Bionic Group was established in 2002 and became a leading United Kingdom specialist in 4D phasing animation, supporting tender submissions for tier one contractors. It continues to trade today, with clients across Europe, the Middle East, Hong Kong and Australia.
2014
Drones
Those construction clients then began asking for aerial survey and inspection data that no supplier could provide at the time. The Bionic Eye was formed in 2014 in response, and approved by the Civil Aviation Authority in the same year. Our early work was engineering: custom airframes and sensor systems built for applications with no commercial equivalent, including survey grade LiDAR platforms for Network Rail structures and corona inspection systems for utilities operators.
Now
Supply, authorisation, support
That pattern continues. As manufacturers matured, ready-to-fly platforms became capable of work that had previously required a bespoke build, and our focus moved to the supply, authorisation and support of proven systems. Today it is directed at the cleaning, cargo and application markets, and at the regulatory approval those operations require. The engineering capability remains, and it underpins our technical support and in-house repair.
