Support
Trained pilots, and the paperwork that proves it.
Permission to fly is not granted to a drone. It is granted to an operation, and an operation is people, procedures and records.
Most of what the CAA asks for is documentation, and most of the time spent on an application goes into producing it.
Training
Your pilots are trained on your own equipment, on a real surface or in real conditions, rather than in a classroom. Cleaning work in particular is learned in front of a building, because standoff, pressure and how a surface behaves cannot be taught from a manual.
We also train the people around the pilot: the ground crew, whoever manages the cordon, and whoever signs the work off.
Training is available as an additional service and can be arranged at your site or ours.
Keeping currency
Permission is granted on the basis that your pilots stay current, and the CAA expects records demonstrating it. Currency is also what supports a wider permission later, so the records you keep in the first year determine what you can apply for in the second.
We advise on what to record and how, so that the evidence is there when it is needed rather than reconstructed afterwards.
Renewal
An authorisation lasts twelve months. Renewal is not automatic, and it is straightforward where the records have been kept properly and slow where they have not.
We handle renewals, variations and changes of scope if required.
Tell us who needs training and what you intend to operate. We will set out what is required and when.
