Where the business began.

The Bionic name dates to 1996, when the business produced computer and motion graphics effects for feature film, creating the animated on-screen graphics and displays that convey key information within a scene. Members of our team worked on productions including the Mission Impossible and Harry Potter film series.

From film to flight

The same craft carried into construction, where a complex sequence has to be understood before it is built. The Bionic Group was established in 2002 and became a leading United Kingdom specialist in 4D phasing animation, supporting tender submissions for tier one contractors, and it continues to trade today.

It carried again into the air. When construction clients began asking for survey and inspection data that no supplier could provide at the time, The Bionic Eye was formed in 2014 and approved by the Civil Aviation Authority in the same year.

Aerial camera work

Our early drone work included aerial camera platforms approved for feature film production, built when no system for the shot existed off the shelf. That habit, engineering for work with no commercial equivalent, is the same one behind the survey grade LiDAR and inspection systems we build today.

Why it matters now

The Bionic Eye did not arrive with the drone. The business has planned, engineered and delivered complex visual and technical work for close to thirty years. That experience sits behind the systems we supply and the support we provide.
